Pepe Sulaimán, José Sulaimán’s eldest son, shared with the community of WBC Store how the artwork for this piece of clothing was created. The following is based on a true story, we are fortunate enough to be able to share this story for you, and lastly, we hope that you enjoy it as much as we do. Our greatest goal is for you to wear with pride pieces that have been designed and manufactured with historic stories behind them!

• During a visit of Mike Tyson to Don José Sulaimán, Pepe Sulaimán took a picture of Mike while they were talking. Pepe tells us he liked that image so intensely that he decided to make a drawing of the champion on scratch cardboard. The particularity of this support is that the surface is black and when scratching the surface, the white color appears, a technique known in the art world as “the black way”. Since the beginning, Pepe wanted to put the image on a t-shirt, and now, four years later, we were finally able to find the appropriate technique to transfer the drawing to the t-shirt with no loss of the details of the drawing.

As previously explained, the t-shirt is inspired by a historical moment of two of the greatest legends of boxing and humanity.
